Sometimes a rut is good

Friday, October 09, 2015

The in-laws are safely back home so we don't have anyone to entertain anymore. The kid's school soccer season is almost over - one more regular season game, and then the playoffs, which will probably be one and out. So we are slowly getting back to more regular dinners at home and less eating out. At least for a short while, before the kid's club soccer season starts!

Tonight I made steamed broccoli, baked fish, and rice (for the hub and kid). Really simple, really boring. But all fresh and healthy, and after this week's unexpected excitement, kind of reassuring in its blandness.

Totally agree. A routine can be so calming. So glad you can finally kick back and enjoy some true down time. I hope your job has become less hectic, too, and you've completely recovered from your cold.

I like simple food, too. You're right that it's reassuring, and if you're really hungry and eating right (as in no Flamin' Hot Cheetos), well, simple food is the most delicious thing in the world!

Simple is good. Fish and veges is a standard dinner for me.

That seems to be our -go to- meal at least once a week. It's almost refreshing.

Sometimes simple is the best. Don't have to think about it too much, but can enjoy the simplicity. emoticon
