Day 322 - The Road to 32

Sunday, October 18, 2015

I loved Jane's (JJMPLSMN's) blog post today, and it has inspired me to give a title to my journey: The Road to 32.

When I started Spark, I had borrowed a pair of 40" waist pants from my dad for my niece Amie's wedding, because I didn't have any dress pants that fit. I hated how I looked in those pants, and felt nothing but despair. I knew then that as soon as I was completely well and had the blessing of my surgeon, that I was going to start getting back to a healthy weight.

Not quite two months later, I found Spark. My life changed again, and I dedicated myself to healthy living in all its facets. I've lost 45 pounds, and am not only slender but amazingly fit. I feel fantastic!

Today at Costco, I bought a pair of 32" waist pants. No dressing rooms, so I couldn't try them on. Got them home and tried them on. They fit perfectly, and I'm going to wear them to church tomorrow.

I wasn't planning on getting into a size 32 again, but I'm glad it happened. Achieving this has given me more than just confidence. It has given me satisfaction, gratitude, self-esteem, and inner beauty.

So think about your own journey and where you'd like it to take you. Embrace the road you're on, knowing that it will take you somewhere amazing, one step at a time.

Keep Sparking!

Both your blogs have encouraged me to give a name to this portion of my journey - I am calling it The Healthy '40s. That's where I want to stay this winter! I've been having a time the past couple of years going up into the '50s each winter. While in my range, I haven't liked it. I'll see how it helps me stay lower. Thanks!

WOW,from a size 40 to a 32. You have accomplished so much. What great joy. You havecome a long way. You are a great mentore. Today I did my 40 minutes of exercise on my exercise bike. I was listening to Bruce springsteen songs. It felt great when I completed my exercise. It means so much when I log on to spark and see you have written a blog. It is courage. emoticon

What a fab waist size, Steve! I dropped 2-3 sizes depending on the brand and I can get in and out of one of my old pairs of jeans without opening the zip and button - ha, ha!
The shock of Mum being terminally ill and advancing to palliative care within days took a few days to adjust to. Now we are at peace and all here to help when she needs help and to give her rest and peace when she needs that. We have made her room as nice as possilbe and she looks at the Iona photos every now and then, and smiles. Some days it feels as if this journey has only begun - life is an adventure.

    Steve:

I bought those EXACT same cords for my daughter's beau for his birthday. I LOVE them, and know you look awesome in them. 32s?? Isn't that the size high school boys wear? You thin thing you!!

I love "Road to 32". It's nice to be able to name your journey, after you are looking back at it, and knowing just how successful you are and have been.

Keep sparking my friend, and enjoy those cords.

Love nonscale victories! Love your title The Road to 32!!!
My NSV was also clothing related...had to put on something long sleeve recently due to drastic temperature drop...well, I put on a top and thought it seemed big and thought to myself this is one of my older ones (2X) and after wearing it all day I was really surprised at how big it was...well, I took a look at the tag...it was a 1X!!! I was literally shocked...but really happy and pleased! I am in one of those spaces now where I want to try on stuff and see what else is big or now fits! I am embracin my road... emoticon
