Remember these old "fat belt" machines? They are about as effective as any of those miracle diet programs out there that insist usage will make you into something you will never be. Look at them, they are EATING while they are exercising. If you can eat while you exercise, you are not working hard enough!!
One thing I have learned from my journey at Spark, is that unless you want to go back to the same shape, same person you were, you CANNOT consider this a diet. To win this one, you have to change the way you look at food FOREVER.
I have done this. I am at 99 pounds down, and will be at 100 before the end of the weekend. I have done this by religiously tracking my food, getting in a lot of fitness, and drinking a lot of water. No fat belts anywhere, just a lot of personal achievement.
I admit to having an advantage. I can dictate exactly what comes into my kitchen. I make meals just for me. Because I can do that, I determine every day what I will eat. I think it is critical that you have healthy food in the house to make meals, and that you clean out your kitchen from anything that is lousy for you and might be tempting. I eat clean every single meal, every single day. I do it just because I love fruits and vegetables, fish and don't eat much wheat, but if I do, it is always whole grains. You will seriously learn to love it.
Anytime you think that a quick fast, or a quick two-week diet, or even those expensive high calorie cans of junk might be the answer, just think about that "fat belt". What do you think it actually did? Jiggled fat. Didn't make it go away, unless you changed the way you ate, and I would bet that it didn't say anything about that. Those were the days that meat and potatoes and no vegetables and some pie were considered a good dinner. And, if you lived in the midwest, Dinner might have been at lunchtime, and then you had an additional supper....no chance that would ever work.
Get rid of that "fat belt" mentality. This isn't a quick trip, it's a journey. One you are taking just for you, because you are worth this, and you want, for once in your life, to be able to look in the mirror and just smile.
I'm getting there, and my smile gets bigger every single day.
Spark on.
