Today was our campus Halloween bash. I am not a fan of Halloween, but I still managed to have fun today, especially watching all the tykes from the Childcare Center (where our Early Childhood Education students get on-the-job training) come over for their treats and showing off their costumes. They were all adorable!
The theme for the party was "Blast from the Past" - and different teams had different decades or time periods to represent. The office staff got the 1920s. I was supposed to be a gangster, and all the women were my flapper dolls.
My costume came out ok, although I was swimming in the suit, even after making it double-breasted. I trimmed off my beard except for a small mustache, and then borrowed an eyebrow pencil to create the Clark Gable look. Here's my mug shot...
I won best 1920's costume, but gave credit to my financial aid tech Sandra, who found the suit at a garage sale in her neighborhood!
We took mug shots of everyone and posted them on a "most wanted" wall. Everyone really enjoyed themselves, and it was fun to get out of the normal work routine for a little while. (Although I ended up working until 6:30 to get caught up on all my projects for the day, but who's counting?)
Tomorrow Annette and I are driving to Williams to the Colusa County Campus for an all-day meeting. I'm hoping to have some time with my operations specialist to check in on the campus before the meetings start. At least Annette and I will have some quality time to talk during the hour-drive down the mountain.
For those of you who enjoy and celebrate Halloween - have fun but be safe! For you who, like me, couldn't be bothered.... have fun and be safe! There are lots of temptations between now and the New Year. Do you have the willpower to maintain control? Have a taste, if you must, but don't eat pounds of candy. Remember that a moment on the lips means a lifetime on the hips! Do you really want to eat that - and is it worth gaining two pounds for a second of pleasure?
Stay focused, friends! You've got this!
Keep Sparking - and keep being awesome!
