And sometimes it is a little hard

Saturday, October 31, 2015

I was traveling for work today and did not have total control over my meals so it was challenging.

Breakfast at the bed and breakfast: grilled fresh pineapple (good), sliced croissants turned into French toast and then soaked in syrup (skipped), and tiny turkey sausages, microwaved (yuck, but I ate 3). The servings were small so I was still hungry when I finished, but it was enough to get me started.

Lunch, provided at work: greasy takeout pizza, which I skipped. Instead, all I had was a banana I had packed in case of emergency.

Dinner, at kid's end-of-season soccer party. I put together: a bowl of lettuce topped with tomato salsa and cubed steak, accompanied with a pile of raw veggies. It was the best I could compile from the potluck dishes.

Breakfast was barely enough, and the banana at lunch saved my life. Talk about grease bombs - the younger people scarfed all the pizza down but I just could not put it into my body. I was so hungry by dinner time that I would have binged if I could. But I had to wait until after the kids had made their way through the buffet line, and there wasn't much healthy left by then.

I'm looking forward to getting back to home-made meals tomorrow!

Traveling can be difficult! You did great with planning though! An emergency banana? Way to go!

Wow, good control. Instead of eating too much, and unhealthy, sounds like you ate too little! Home is always easier when we're in control of what is being served.

Wow, that sounds so hard, Bemused! But you made it through! Your discipline never ceases to amaze me. But after having had only some pineapple and three little turkey sausages (I agree on the yuck) and only a banana for lunch, I would have had a big headache by dinnertime and would not have been able to be nice to the other people at the end-of-season soccer party.
