Halloween Candy Strategy Success!
Thursday, November 05, 2015
I have always been guilty of devouring most of my kids Halloween candy. Halloween is usually the official start to my pigout season....usually ending on January 1st!!
This year, I really focused....
I looked at the candy and remembered:
1. That candy was made months ago...and sat in warehouses and trucks and in someone's house...and is now in my possession...is that attractive??? NO!
2. I know what every candy on earth tastes like...nothing new to try here. Can't I just imagine that Snickers bar melting in my mouth and not have to experience it again?!
3. Will the challenge at the scale be worth that fun size snack? NEVER!
4. My kids expect me to do as I always have and overeat candy---it freaks them out when I say no to candy...I love that! I love feeling like I am different this year!
There is still candy in the house. They donated a bunch, but not all. But refocusing what I think when I look at the candy has made it easier to avoid! I want to win this time...really badly!
The feeling of control makes me happier than a small taste of an old candy bar!
