My Spark is Still Here......

Thursday, November 05, 2015

It's been almost a year since my last blog. Wow?! This year has been a bit of a whirlwind. In January, we bought a new (to us) house, moved to Indianapolis and I started a new job. With all the new changes, my sparking took a back seat for a while....ok...for most of the year. Most of the changes went flawlessly. We love our house! We love it's location! And, can I just say, we LOVE living in Indy! It's an amazing city.

The first nine months of my life down here, though, can be summed up in one word....Work. I was working crazy hours - late into the night, on the weekends. I would come home in tears some times just because of the volume of cases I had. I never got my head above water (nor did any of the other attorneys at that location). There were times I felt close, but then I would get bombarded and feel like I was sinking again. I did not move down to Indy to be in the office (either at work or home) working all the time. And those months, my weight also suffered. My weight has been creeping back up.

By September, I was to the point of looking for another job. I had even started updating my resume and references and putting out some feelers. And then I was offered a transfer to the adjacent county's office. What a different a county makes! Now I actually love my job! I am busy, but in a healthy way. I have my evening and weekends back for the most part and things are finally settling in. And I am so much less stressed! (And probably a bit more enjoyable to be around, if you ask my husband).

And things are not just settling in with work, we finally have found our church home as well and are excited about getting plugged in there. I joined an evening women's bible study group and it's been great. The women are genuine and a joy to get to know. Our next step is to get into a small group (they call them LifeGroups).

And now.....it's time to settle back in to Sparking. While I may have taken a bit of a hiatus, my journey is not over. I have not quit or given up. I miss being on here and "talking" with everyone and being an encouragement and also getting inspiration from all of you. Today I logged in to get back on track and lo and behold, my page is the Motivational Page of the Day. Is that confirmation that it's time to get back at it or what?!

I know I cannot go back and read up on how everyone has been doing over the past 11 months, but I do look forward to reconnecting with my SparkFriends. I have missed you!
