The challenges are great. The craving for a quick smoke, the cue is changing gears- When I move from one thought process to another, it is like my brain wants this cigarette to celebrate. Answer- JUST SAY NO!! I have made it through the worst part with my sanity intact.
I am also grateful I planned for the Quit, but getting active in Sparks and logging my food, water, sleep, medications. I use Spark for my day planner these days:) 65 days tracking food! Again the challenges are great, and the tracker helps me evaluate my choices. I am adding a New Motivation Page. CHUCK THE CHIPS!!
It is the weekend, I am going to make some apple chips and some zucchini chips- way healthier and still satisfying for that crunchy taste I am looking for. I added a few new recipes to my Recipe book today. Now I will remake them to reduce sodium. I had a heart attack in 2011, and need to keep my sodium under 1500, which is less than 500 per meal. I can't imagine a recipe that contains 1,200 g of sodium being considered healthy.
November is Move My Muscle Month. I have exercise scheduled every day of the week. Monday is Chair Yoga, Tues & Thurs is Cardio Exercise group and Wed & Friday Water exercise. This week I did Mon, Tues and Friday. On Friday I went into the pool an hour before the class to warm up and walk. Tuesdays session really kicked my butt. Oh yeah, I forgot, start out small :) I am feeling much better now and my body says she could do the pool again today. I called my Dr on Thurs and schedule the injections for the back pain I have been dealing with for over 5 years. I am also logging my pain on the tracker. It seems to run moderate to high and really affects my mobility. I look at the past year, and I have gone from not moving at all, using a walker and a cane and a brace- all gone. So I win! Just by being able to move unassisted, for short periods of time.
Before I go to the pool, I need to process todays Bountiful Baskets. I have fresh veggies and fruits. I also bought a big box of Roma tomatoes. Why used canned, when it is easy to to make salt free healthy sauce and freeze it? I will be using the medical stool that I bought so I can roll around the kitchen.
So this Saturday, I am priming for next week. I will do the cardio class! I may not last the whole hour, but I know I can do the 20 minutes! And I will remain Smoke Free. And I will Deep Breathe and be Grateful.
