First turkey in sight

Saturday, November 21, 2015

The college kid will be home for Thanksgiving, and is bringing a buddy who isn't able to visit his family. So we will do the whole turkey dinner, and decided to invite several people from work who are far from their families.

It'll be 10 of us for Thanksgiving, which isn't too daunting. The house cleaning beforehand is more intimidating than the cooking itself. Except ... two of our guests are vegans. So I need to aim for all the dishes except the turkey itself to be vegan. And I'm wondering whether I should look for a vegan alternative to turkey as well!

Sounds like it's going to be a festive, joyful gathering. You are very generous to invite people who might otherwise be alone for Thanksgiving. I'm sure it'll be a great meal, and you'll all have a great time!

Thanks for being willing to host others. At this time of year, being far from family can be very hard. I am sure that you will find some great recipes/foods to provide for all your guests. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

We're going to have a full house (for us). So looking forward to it and, I'm with you, the cleaning is truly causing more anxiety than the cooking. I LIKE cooking, I do not like cleaning.

Thank goodness for the abundance if recipes and ideas available online. The other thing you might try is to find iut if either vegan has a favorite dish or dishes. Good luck & Happy Thanksgiving
