A cornucopia of gratitude

Thursday, November 26, 2015

I am grateful for so many things today.

- my Mom had a health scare today. She fainted and fell, triggering the medical alert. She was taken to the hospital to be checked out; the problem seems to be low blood pressure due to a recent change in medication. I am so grateful that it wasn't something more serious, and that she is back home resting. I'm so grateful that my siblings still live in my home town and can take care of our Mom. It's hard to be worrying from thousands of miles away, so I'm glad that my Mom had to spend only a couple of hours in the hospital before being allowed to go home.

- the college kid is home and will stay through the weekend. What a luxury, to enjoy him for multiple days! I'm trying not to hover but it's hard not to give him a hug whenever I walk by him. I'm so grateful for these few days with him.

- I managed to clean only half the ground floor today. The turkey is brining, and I'll need to get up early to finish the cleaning and start cooking. So tomorrow is going to be crazy busy. But the family is together, and the college kid is laughing at something funny on netflix, and I am counting my blessings. Everyone I love is safe and healthy at home tonight. I hope all my spark friends have a wonderful day with their families. I know, even with the crazy cleaning and cooking, I'm going to be taking lots of hug breaks tomorrow!

Beautiful blog, Bemused. I actually got all tingly reading it, for there is nothing more moving than having the people you love safe and happy at home. And to know that your mother is safe in your hometown and that your siblings are watching over her--yes indeed, my dear, you are truly blessed!
