Day 362 - November Gratitude, part 26

Thursday, November 26, 2015

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is my favorite holiday. I love to cook, and there are so many wonderful dishes that are a part of this day. I love coming up with new variations of the classics that are healthier and even more delicious! Of course, having a brand new kitchen to cook it all in is a major source of gratitude today! As promised, here are the photos:

Some friends are coming over for dinner this afternoon, and my parents are coming up on Saturday for an overnight. Tomorrow we start decorating for the Christmas holidays. The countdown to the end of the year has begun!

I'm so full of thanks today. I'm grateful for all of you, your support and encouragement. I'm thankful that my skinny jeans fit even better than they did when I tried them on in the store a few months ago. My year of Sparking has given me more than I ever could have dreamed. I'm overwhelmed with gratitude.

My dear SparkFriends, I hope your Thanksgiving holiday is warm and full of love, and that the memories you create today will stay with you for a long time.

Once again, Happy Thanksgiving!

AMAZE BALLS! emoticon That awesome blue island immediately grabbed my attention! How much fun! No wonder you love cooking there! The countertops are amazing also. I like the lighter color. Our kitchen is all white and I was afraid I might be making a mistake with that since it's very large and the upper cabinets are super tall. That's a WHOLE lot of white. But since we've had the house built in 2002 I've never gotten tired of the look, or wished I would have done something different. You can never go wrong with crisp beautiful white can you?

We did upgrade the appliances to stainless steel and then just changed out the hardware to a silver look to blend in. I likey~still! emoticon

What an absolutely beautiful kitchen!!!!!!!!!! The Steves have exquisite taste.
I have to tell you: When I renovated my kitchen five years ago, I actually took out the exact vent hood!! IT was original to the house. I guess you would call it vintage. IT still works, but did not match with the rest of my kitchen..I have hickory cabinets, almond appliances.

I, too, love your blue island base. I cannot really see the colors of the countertops, but they sound beautiful by your description.
I see that you have a nice bed out on your enclosed patio. Is that for guests? What a beautiful view for them to wake up with!!
I am so happy it is finally finished for you both to work in!!

Amazing kitchen, functional, fun and just plain fantastic. Loved all the photos!

I am sure everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving Dinner and that you enjoyed preparing for people you care about.

Every year right before Thanksgiving I write a Blessings List and take out and read lists from previous years. Just wanted you to know that the list for 2015 starts with you.

Never change Steve, always be true to yourself and passionate about making life better for others. It is not always the easiest road, but the rewards of knowing you have helped another person are beyond measure.

Yes, the blue island is inspired by the lake. In fact, Sherwin Williams calls the color "Lakeshore" - which is the name of our street! The island countertop, with the swirls of blue and cream, reminds me of the lake with swirls of foam along the shoreline from the crashing of the waves. The sofa is a gray color. We are hoping to find four club chairs to go in the sitting area next to the dining table. That will be a spring project!

Wow, worth the effort and wait, huh? Beautiful! I am sure it was a dream to cook in!
The view of the lake is just fantastic...did it inspire the blue island in the kitchen?
When the new sofa comes, where is it going? Can't wait! What color?
So, you will get to visit with your parents after all! Enjoy...hope it goes well! you will get to show off the kitchen...and wear those skinny jeans (healthy pants) emoticon

What an awesome way to celebrate Thanksgiving...cooking in that marvelous kitchen.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE your new kitchen. I looked at every photo. I want to know if you collect Fiesta pitchers...some look like them and I have a HUGE collection of old Fiesta stuff, and also have some old cookie jars, which it looks like you have some of too.

I love the colors, love the way the cabinets look, SO clean and streamlined, and love thinking of you sitting at that little desk with your laptop writing your blogs. The view is spectacular, and the remodel is perfect. Just awesome choices in appliances, colors, everything.

I am so happy for both of you. This should be something that you will enjoy for many years to come.

I am thankful I found you on Spark, Steve, and am grateful that you have found such happiness with your home, health and job.

    Spark on!!
