We have been home for a little over a week. Leaving Rochester was very bittersweet as I have fallen in love with that city. The people at Limb Lab, Dr. Carlson, Dr. Andrews and Steve from PT have become our friends as well as being the team that worked with Nick. Nick was able to walk into my brother's house for Thanksgiving for the first time in almost 2 years. While we were there Nick was playing sled hockey for the Rochester Mustangs, another great bunch of people and when they have games Nick will go back up there if he can. To say we've come along way is an understatement but we have 1 more hurdle to go and that is his bladder reconstruction that will be March 22 2016, we will be at Mayo for about 6 weeks and then it is just follow ups from there. I am so grateful for all the support we have received from all the medical staff, our friends at home and everyone on Sparkpeople, I can't thank everyone enough!!
Wow! Talk about the true meaning of Thanksgiving! Thank you for sharing. We, too, are thankful for the blessings of modern medicine. May your life continue to improve. And may you have even more to be thankful for next year. 1923 days ago
