Back to the trenches

Monday, November 30, 2015

It has been a really lovely few days. We had the college kid home, and I hugged and smooched him dozens of times. He's a good kid and indulges his mom's wackiness.

And yes, I may have eaten more than I should. The kid's back in his dorm and I'm already missing him, but I'm glad that the new week is starting. It'll put me back on a normal eating schedule and make it easier for me to stick to plan. I'm not actually looking forward to getting back to work, but at the very least all the end-of-year deadlines mean I will have precious little time during the day to be tempted to snack!

I have mixed feelings, too, when holidays are over. I miss my two children who live away from home and leave at the end of holidays, but I agree with you and Pam that routine is really so much better when we're trying to eat in a self-disciplined way. I wish I could be one of those people for whom this is not true, but well...

I hope your schedule won't be too horribly busy as the year comes to an end. Hope you'll have enough time for yourself, too!

My regular schedule is so much easier to stay on track than things out of the ordinary, company, especially overnight, I HAVE to feed them, now don't I? Besides, I like to. Will be challenging at Christmas, the holiday itself, the get togethers and will have step-son from out of state here, whom I love to cook for. Must be strong!

Don't worry about a little bit of overindulging. You have a great plan in place to get back on track. Glad you enjoyed your weekend with the kiddos. Have a great week. emoticon emoticon emoticon
