Days 371 & 372 - Regret Nothing

Sunday, December 06, 2015

It is human nature to feel bad about our mistakes, to stew over missteps, and to remember the bad times more than the good ones.

Other than spending some time learning how to avoid those errors in the future, it is a waste of energy to mull over things that make you unhappy. They happened, it sucks, and now it's time to move on. The only thing I try to do is figure out how to fix it.

Everything that happens to you, both positive and negative, becomes a piece in the jigsaw puzzle that is you. They are the threads in your fabric. The tiles in your mosaic. Use those images to appreciate all that life gives you.

We are all amazing, fascinating, cherished beings. Let's celebrate that this holiday season!

Love this 'spot on' reflection. We were where we were supposed to be, experiencing what we were supposed to be experiencing at the time is how I look at my past.

Some major blunders WHO PICKS A SPOUSE simply by the way he looks and how muscle bound he is? A 13 year old dum~dum of a girl that doesn't have much life experience..that's who. Married at 17 was a disaster for 10 years...but guess what...it taught me how LUCKY I am to be married to the man I am today and how appreciative I am for a relationship built on respect and admiration for shared goals and companionship...NOT looks alone! Had I not experienced that earlier blunder I probably wouldn't be as happy as I am in our marriage of 38 years today.

We are the sum total of our experiences good and bad and I'd say yours shaped you up to be a pretty doggone good human my friend! emoticon

Boy oh boy, did I do some major damage in the past. But I 90% don't think about it anymore and just live in the limelight of NOW. Thanx for you blog sweetie. Hugs.

I used to be embarrassed about the things i did many years ago, BUT I learned, loved, laughed and met many wonderful people along the way. I would never have met these people in this life if not for the choices I made back when..

Love this. Had just this type of conversation with my 15 year old granddaughter not long ago. She asked me if I regretted my earlier marriages which ended in divorce, if it was a mistake marrying that person? I told her absolutely not, every choice I made, every path I chose, every consequence I suffered, was a lesson. Every lesson taught me what I needed to know to be the person I am today. No mistakes, just lessons. --Pam

We are human, we are imperfect, we can learn from our mistakes and move forward or we can wallow in guilt and self pity and be stuck forever going nowhere.
Why do some people choose the latter path? Sometimes out of fear, sometimes because they have been bullied and belittled.
If you know someone who is struggling with self doubt, reassure them that they are worthy of living their best life. Be a friend!

    Life is good, enjoy!

I agree, this is perfect and I like the analogies. I am reminded of a song by Piaf... Non, Je ne regret rien... No, I regret nothing

    This is perfect.

What happened ten minutes ago is of no relevance anymore. There is not a darned thing we can do about it, and we MUST stop obsessing about things that we didn't do, and never should have any remorse anymore for roads not taken.

What is in front of us is all that matters, and your trail looks long, straight, an easy slope, and full of happiness.

    I am DELIGHTED for you!!!

    Spark on, my friend.
