Checkin' In

So, last week I started incorporating a 30-minute Pilates workout into my routine 3 times per week. I've stuck to it for 2 weeks (woot woot!). I'm enjoying the progress I'm seeing. I'm able to do more this week than I did last week, and seeing the progress is encouraging.

My boyfriend and I have gradually added to our walking. We started originally at about 15 minutes a night, and as of Wednesday, we're now at a 30-minute walk per night. My boyfriend has arthritis in his knees and has very bad asthma, so we weren't sure how it was going to go, so we have been working to his ability during our "together" walks (I walk faster on my "alone" walks - which I do two walks per day while at work - one 15 minute walk and one 30 minute walk most days). So, this speaks as much to his progress as mine. He is doing really well and he told me that he's adjusting to his new knee braces (they make him look like he's part robot lol - he loves it lol), and that he feels good about his walks.

The fact that he and I are progressing together makes it easier to stick to. I expected to be the one having to "push" for the walks each day because he had resisted so often, but in reality, he's the one who has been more adamant about it. It's nice to have someone help to hold me accountable.

I love that I am starting to get back into the swing of things so quickly. This coming week, I'm incorporating some additional cardio to my routine in the morning. We'll see how it goes.
