uuurrrghhhhh need to deal with nasties

so... tomorrow I need to weigh in. It's not a weigh-in day, but although my xmas day calories were not too bad... the days since then have been absolutely awful. I thought today would be the day I got back to business, but somehow my lunch came to a whopping 1411 calories. Chicken casserole was reasonable but I had 2 mince pies. TWO!!! with a massive dollop of cream. Totally unnecessary, other than I have too many mince pies and they need using up by the weekend. And never mind the "walking past the goodies and picking up a rum truffle because it looked yummy" shenanigans.
The scale is going to groan and give a shocking number.. but I need to get back on track and see some progress. If I don't go over my maintenance calories tomorrow (will be hard to stick to weight-loss range with so many goodies about) I should still see a loss from that weight when I weigh again the following day, with some sodium-water weight shifting.
I have a few ideas for improving my progress in 2016... which I will think about more over the next few days. Today, I have eaten way more calories than I can reasonably burn, and haven't even eaten an evening meal yet.
I will also get the measuring tape out. That's going to be worse than the scale.
Got to be done though, I will try my best to improve those numbers over the next 3 months. My goal is to drop 1 jeans size in that time. I want 2016 to be a successful year for me in many ways. Getting back to a normal and healthy size is high on my list of hopes for the year.
