First day of 2016

Weight: 292.1

Today woke up late and pretty much had a lazy day, First day of the new year, not really much to do, especially not after all the food and booze I had last night.

Breakfast was overnight oats mixed with homemade cranberry sauce that I still have. Thank you pectin! This is the 3rd year I've made my own cranberry sauce and I have been converted, I will never go back to the can again!
The oats that I used are steel cut oat, I just love them! They take longer to cook than rolled oats it's why I start them before I go to bed. Why I love them is because unlike rolled oats where you need half a cup, steel cut oats you only need a quarter cup and 3parts water and you end up with creamy, chewy, nutty goodness. The oats refrigerate and heat up wonderfully why I usually make 4-5 days worth of oats at once. They are the least processed oats available and I love that about them. I've been trying to eat less processed foods and more like how people used to eat before factories mass produced our food.

Since I had a late breakfast, didn't have lunch.......or was my breakfast my lunch? Hmmm

Dinner I had leftover bacalhau de consoada which is portuguese salt cod made for xmas eve, only I made it after xmas. Traditionally it's boiled potatoes, kale, onions, eggs, and salt cod with a garlic infused olive oil poured over the fish and potatoes. Since it's just for me and not a whole family, I didn't do the eggs, sauteed the onions and garlic, made pan fried potato coins and served with boiled cod and blanched kale.

As for exercise today, I did some yoga poses including a short lived downward dog, and took a walk around my neighborhood with Hally after dinner.
