How Do You FORCE Yourself To Workout When You Don't Feel Like It?

Tuesday, January 12, 2016

I'm eating right. Trying to sleep, but having a hard time. Lots of aches and pains and insomnia. Not feeling any energy to workout. Why? I think it might be mental. I think there's something that makes me want to stay at my desk and work, but not get on my feet and work.

My question is: HOW DO YOU MOTIVATE YOURSELF TO EXERCISE WHEN IT'S THE LAST THING YOU FEEL LIKE DOING?

I need inspiration!

I just remember if I can't find time to work out at least 30 minutes a few times a week then I will have to make time to be sick. I've lost too many family members this past year to know that it's true. Good health is invaluable! emoticon

I am so grateful to all of you! Thank you so much. Today I am working out because you motivated me to do it.

I also like to promise myself an easy workout -- as long as I do SOMETHING. And some days all I do is 10 minutes... And that's okay. It took me about 3 months to make it a habit (slightly easier each day)...

Jusr make myself do some form of exercise and stretcing the minute I get out of bed - as I always work out at home I don't even get dressed. I KNOW that if I don't work out first thing it probably won't happen at all. THEN I shower and dress and am more inclined to take myself for a walk or whatever. It's the only way I've found to get a workout in as I am never inclined it I think about it.

My best trick is promising myself I only have to do 10 min. Almost always turns into more. I also make playlists and only listen to them while walking. Being sleepless is no fun for sure.

Tell yourself you'll only walk for 10 min. Then if you feel like it do another 10 and another. You don't have to be all gung ho to work out. Sometimes you just have to show up and do it. You'll feel better once you have.

Maybe it is time to check in with the doctor to make sure there isn't some underlying issue. If nothing else it can be reassuring that you are doing your best. Now if something like this is dinging in your car you wouldn't think twice about getting it check out so more doesn't break. Go check out your body to make sure nothing more is going on. emoticon emoticon

If you can get a workout buddy, that is best. Then even if you don't want to go, you have to because they're expecting you!

It is mental. Sometimes you have to just get up and do it. Find a workout that you enjoy. Find one that is fun. If you like to dance find a dancing workout that you can look forward to doing. Everyday you won't feel like working out but think about the end results. Youtube has a lot of fun and different workouts that are free. When I can't go to class with my personal trainer I use those to workout. Hope this helps.

Be careful, you can't workout as much if you need more sleep
