The Hormone Reset Diet / Dr. Sara Gottfried

Tuesday, January 12, 2016

I first read about this approximately a year ago on Women's Workd or some such magazine. I've tried to follow the basic guidelines in the articles two times now, and have noticed significant changes. However, one of the most craved for results has not lasted. So I am embarking on the Actual, paid-for 21-day detox. It looks overwhelming. I am committed, but worried about being able to follow all the food guidelines. I have looked in our grocery stores and cannot find any poultry actually labeled organic! Half the foods I don't know what they are, don't know how to cook, and/or know I don't like. So why am I doing this? Because, as I said before, just from trying to do part of the detox on my own before I felt positive changes in my body. I stopped feeling ravenous all the time! I went through a time where I could eat till my stomach was stuffed, and yet STILL feel hungry! It made it nigh impossible to stay to a reasonable amount of calories. Eventually a person gets tired of saying no to oneself. NOT feeling hungry ALL THE LIVELONG DAY was a huge gift to myself. Because I started feeling like a Woman again, rather than just a drudge dragging herself through each day. I felt more love and passion for my husband again. I felt more Alive. If anyone reading this has actually done the detox before and can give me any hints on how to get through it without going mad, I would love to hear from you. If anyone wants to be my accountability partner that I can report to, I would be grateful.

How'd you do with this book? I love it and continue to follow the basics. Not eating the processed food helps me the most.

Not sure which detox you are doing. My friend and I did a 14 day detox. Liver and bowel detox. Have to miss a couple of days at work for that one.
