One month in and the flu

I had this whole thing typed and I lost it. I hate it when that happens.
So I am one month in (plus one day) to this round and as of the one monthiversary yesterday I was down 10 lbs. That is pretty awesome for me. I didn't hit my normal 3 week wall, and I attribute it to the accountability group that I am a part of. Originally I was only looking for an accountability partner, but the group has grown to 7 of us, including myself - one of whom was my college roommate and 2 of whom were with me on my original journey. It's wonderfully supportive and not stressful like I originally thought it would be. We congratulate each other on our successes and lift each other up on our low days. When I first joined Sparkpeople and lost all of that weight the first time, I took advantage of the community aspect a lot more with the message boards and blogs and everything. I also had access to a computer all the time and no kids so I had a lot more time on my hands. So this is very reminiscent of that but much less time consuming. We share recipes and get ideas and strategies from each other. It's very motivating and supportive. One month in and it's only getting easier!
Last week the flu started going around my house. It started with my oldest, complaining of a headache and then a stomach ache. Eventually the diarrhea came. It lasted a few days and had to keep him home from school because of it. At least it wasn't pukey flu though I can't handle puke. I can handle poop like a pro. He never had a fever though so we assumed it was food poisoning or something. Then a few days later, my 2 year old woke up with a dirty diaper (which NEVER happens) and screaming. He was in obvious pain but wouldn't take any medicine and only wanted to cuddle. So I slept with him in the guest room. The next morning he had a 102 fever but wouldn't take medicine again so we had to give him a suppository. This fight went on for a few days along with the diarrhea and it was not fun. Then on Monday morning I went to work out, felt a little off but okay, went to work and by 8am had a fever. Ended up leaving school by 9:30 and coming home and sleeping the afternoon away. Fever broke around 3. They had already called school for Tuesday because of a predicted blizzard so I knew I had at least one more day to recover. I managed to eat some toast and a few bites of a breakfast burrito for dinner. The diarrhea came at that time along with another fever around 7pm. Went to bed, woke up still not feeling great and we had no power. In a blizzard. With 2 kids and 1 elderly in the house and a flu bug. Awesome. No power until 11:45 am (5 and a half hours) and thats about the same time my fever returned. Had a hard time getting rid of that one. Ended up calling in for today just to be sure. I managed to eat a few bites of pizza for dinner and felt okay before bed. They ended up calling school again today for high winds and blowing snow, and a sleet storm last night. I woke up today feeling much better (so far!). So heres hoping I'm on the mend. I am down another 2 lbs though, so I will take that!
