Could do with a hug

Thursday, February 04, 2016

I am very sorry all sparkers, having come back on here I realized that over the last few years I only ever come on here when I need support,so after this post I am making it my mission to do two blogs a month, regardless, and reply to all the lovely supportive people out in the ether that are always there with kindness and comments at the ready.
That said I'm feeling sorry for myself. My weightloss is actually okay. (Slow but steadyish- i shall post some photos soon,) and I have got a new job starting in August, and i am even managing to do some writing, but once again my husband is unwell. Prior to last year he was never sick, now he has come down with Dengue. We live in Asia, and whilst not uncommon it is not very pleasant at all. His father is out visiting from the UK, he only comes once a year and this has been planned for over 6 months, but DH is pretty much confined to the bed. We are going to have to cancel our holiday - something we were all so excited about - and because it's so late we will loose all the money. (The flights already cost much more than they should have but that's another story). I am aware that I am incredible lucky, and that in the grand scheme of things I have nothing at all to complain about, it's just that I don't have anyone to talk to about it. After 4 years living here I still don't have any great friends. The time difference makes it near impossible to call friends up in the UK. I just really want a hug, Thank you and sorry for the self-indulgent whinging.

I'm so sorry for your troubles! I will keep your hubby and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I know it sucks to lose money unless you're bill gates, but it isn't everything. Focus on all your blessings during this trying time. I know it's hard, but try to really see what you have and not what you are losing. Really try to make an effort to see family as soon as you can, after taking this hit. Just put away a little money here and there with that goal.

It's good that you have a new job coming in August and that you have been writing. I'm a writer in the beginning stages of a freelance career. What kind of writing are you speaking of? If you want to add me as a friend, we can help support one another. Meanwhile, have you been reaching out and really trying to connect with potential friends in your area? I haven't been trying and have been struggling with that, myself. It's hard in an unfamiliar area, but we have to put ourselves out there, don't we? It makes life so much better when we can have human interaction instead of just SparkPeople...BUT THIS SITE AND ALL THE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TRULY AMAZING. It's just been a real pleasure.

Take care and don't forget to do something for yourself to take away some stress. You have a family to care for, but DON'T FORGET ABOUT YOURSELF. You deserve something relaxing. :)
