Day 434 - Anderson Marsh State Historic Park
Saturday, February 06, 2016
We took a hike this afternoon at Anderson Marsh State Historic Park, which is just a few miles from home, in nearby Lower Lake, California. It was a beautiful day, about 65F, and it was perfect for hiking. Here's a link with more information on the park:

It was a great day for a hike. Along the way we saw some gorgeous manzanita that was just starting to flower. The red bark of these small trees/large shrubs is nothing short of amazing!
We hiked about 6.5 miles. By the end we were pretty worn out, but it was worth it. What a great way to connect with nature and with each other. Good conversation, too.
To end our amazing day, we came home to a gorgeous sunset, the first we've seen in 2016!
What a treat to have such a great experience on the first weekend of February. To top it off, I finally stopped by our local library this morning and got my library card! Now I feel truly to be a resident of Clearlake! (Our town library when I was a kid in Peru, Indiana, was a "Carnegie Library" about 4 blocks from our house. I loved going there on the weekend to get a book or three to read. I look forward to getting back into that habit!)
Yes, today was a perfect day! I hope yours was equally awesome!
Keep Sparking, friends!!!
