Time to take care of the outside/date night

I am back from a wonderful 'couples' weekend! Well, that was the plan, then our sitter got sick, wah wah wah! Still ended up being a blast though!

The hubby surprised me Friday with an afternoon to myself so I could get ready for our date. Not gonna lie--most days it is either workout clothes or Pj's for me-oh the joys of being a stay at home, homeschooling mom.

Needless to say, I had gotten a bit lazy with my outward appearance, I just don't have the time. SO it was a great time, I did nails, facial, highlights--the works. I even did makeup, I am normally a wash and go girl, so this was fun. I put on my 'thin' jeans--and they fit wonderfully!!!! I was even able to wear a shirt that was tooo tight last summer, and it was loose!!!
I did watch my calories, and skimped a little knowing that it would be a calorie packed night--calorie counting is off limits on date night--we track, but really focus on enjoying one on one time. My hubby planned the whole thing!!!! It was wonderful, since I normally do the majority of the planning. He Took me to Charlie Ghetto's on The Hill in St Louis, the Godiva store for chocolate dipped strawberries, We even ended the night at an upscale mall, where the hubby took me shopping, since as he says, my clothes needed a bit of an update with all the weight I have lost. It was so fun, and I am almost out of sizes at this store--Torrid--. It was a sad & happy moment when I realized this.

So back at it today-drinking lots of water with lemon to help push all the salt out from the weekend and of course full on tracking, as well as an extra 10 minutes of cardio.

SO Monday QOTD--when if any do you let your calorie counting go?

Me--you know mine, it is twice a month date nights. Also Christmas Day, Thanksgiving, 4th of July, Easter, and Valentines Day.
These days for me are more about who I am spending my time with. I still track, but I don't stress.
This again is another form of planning-I know 29 days/year I can relax a little and just enjoy. Since I know these are coming you might also see me sneak in an extra workout, or just increase my workout time.

    That is FANTASTIC! I don't really let my calorie counting go, I usually still track, but I have occasions where it doesn't matter what the total is, and it would be similar to yours. I think if it works for you, then do it!

    When going to pot luck dinners, I don't track. I just try to choose carefully, eat small portions or tastes, not stuff myself. I figure it is too hard to try and calculate exactly how many calories were in each item I tried and it isn't worth all the hassle. It's only one meal and doesn't happen too often. I'm not going to stay home or not eat just because I don't know what is in each dish. I'll just enjoy the company, have fun, and not worry about it.
