4 Years of Maintenance!
Monday, February 08, 2016
In February 2011 I went to my daughters kindergarten orientation and realized I was the biggest mom there. I didn't want to be the "fat mommy" when she started school.
I decided that day I was willing to do whatever it takes to lose weight, no excuses. I started eating better and little by little started working out. By the time she started school I had lost 60+ pounds. By February 8th 2012 I hit my goal weight.
It has now been exactly 4 years to the day since I hit my goal weight. According to statistics only 5% of people who lose more than a 100 pounds are able to keep the weight off. Well I am throwing those standards out the window. I have not only kept all the weight off, I have also lost extra and achieved a level of fitness I never thought possible.
Everyday is still a struggle and everyday I still have to work as hard as I did when I was losing weight, maybe even harder. The one thing that has definitely helped me to keep the weight off is not getting complacent. Don't get me wrong I have learned to balance life and weight loss but at the same I didn't hit my goal and think I was done. I knew that there was more work to be done and I also have learned that I am worth it. I am worth the time, I am worth the effort and I deserve to be the best me possible.
So here I am, living proof that weight loss is not only attainable it is also maintainable. Don't let yourself become a statistic, change the statistics!
