Race training and doctor updates

So the significant other went and had new scans and blood tests run to see if our natural treatment approach has had any affect on the cancer. Good news was delivered. Doc looked us in the face, smiled really big and told him that not only has it stopped spreading but the existing tumors are shrinking! Blood work also came back normal! So he said that he doesn't pretend to know much about what we are doing, but apparently it is working and for him to continue with what he is doing and they will check him again in 3 months to see how things are looking.
I cannot even describe the pure JOY that I felt in that moment. We have had so many instances of doubting what we are doing and wondering if it was going to do anything at all and if we were not just giving it time to spread even further over the last 3 months. I cannot believe that we got such great news and that there were noticeable enough results 3 months in of trying this method. I am so grateful to everyone in both our families and friends that supported our decision to do this and I am even more grateful for a caring doctor who was understanding enough to let us try our way first and still be as invested as he is. It made all the difference.
Now I am back to working on getting my 5k back under control so I can run this whole race for my birthday next month. I am on week 6 of 9 of my training and it is going really well. I am pleased to see how much easier it is to jog for longer periods of time now that I have managed to get some of the weight off. I have NEVER ran an entire 5k. I have always walked parts of it and my goal is to not do that this time. I really want to prove to myself that I am capable of so much more than I have given myself credit for in the past.
Things are looking up and I couldn't e happier about it. Hope everyone has a great rest of their week. Get out there and move!
