Day 545 I wonder if mind over matter can really work.

Thursday, February 11, 2016

My mind thinks I can do lots of things just like I used to but the reality is my body does not cooperate. I had to sit down 3 times during the time it took to really clean my glass top stove today. My back got really sore with the reaching because I'm so short I can't reach the back where the knobs are without standing on my stool. it did take quite a bit of scraping and rubbing to get it looking pretty good. I haven't done that chore in a long time.

I did sew today. I decided that I couldn't chose between the 2 colors for this years quilt and treated myself to doing both of them. I finished one of this months squares today. I think it might be some of my best work.

I also mailed all 6 pillow cases and the quilt.

Tomorrow is garbage and recycling day. So by the time I got them to the curb the cold air had really bothered my lungs. There are things in the car I should bring in but I'm not carrying heavy things in cold air. I don't want to get sick again.

I also crocheted a lot today. I found a website doing something called 365 Granny Squares. A new square for each day. I decided I would try it but with a twist. Each month I'll take my 30 or so squares and turn them into a lap sized blanket. That way when I catch up I can change colors every month. For Jan. I have a medium brown, light yellow, burgundy, white and a moss green. Some of the squares are just so pretty.

I need to go to town tomorrow. I have several things I need to take care of for mom and dad. Just what I need is a running around day for someone else. Oh well.

Calamitie, about mind over matter, my dad used to say "if you don't mind, it don't matter!"

Your days sound so full. I admire how you keep actually doing things that matter. You start something, work on it, and actually finish! I have a closet full of started but unfinished projects. I wish I was close to your quilt shop to enter that contest!

Your new quilt(s) and afghan projects sound beautiful! Pictures please of your works in progress...!

You are smart to be careful in this awful cold. Do you wear a mask when you go out? That freezing cold can be hard on your heart as well as your lungs. One of those masks that warm your breath could help you when you are out and about. Maybe you can check that out when you do your mom and dad's errands... A pharmacist would be able to help you with the different masks that they carry.

I am driving two and a half hours today to a doctor's appt this afternoon and then I will stay at my daughter's tonight. I have another a[[t tomorrow and plan to come home tomorrow night bringing one or two grands with me since it is a three day weekend. My daughter and son-in-law will come on Saturday afternoon with the other grand who has something that morning which is why I'm only bringing home two of the three grands. Long story short, lol, I'm going to be busy this weekend!

I know you will have a productive one! Enjoy!!!
