Day 446 - Preparing for the Weekend
Friday, February 19, 2016
This is going to be a really fun weekend. Steve's boss from the flower shop where he worked when we lived in Sacramento is coming up for the weekend. Her birthday is Sunday. It's amazing that she wants to spend her birthday with us. She's a really special woman (I always referred to her as Steve's "work wife"). I got home from my day at our Colusa County Campus, and he was on the phone with her. I don't know how long they'd been talking, but the conversation went on for another half hour at least.
She'll be here tomorrow - you can talk to her then! LOL
Tomorrow we three are going to our friends Mel and Kurt's house for dinner. We're getting there early enough to tour their 160-acre property and see all the daffodils in bloom. Karen loves daffodils so much that she named her dog Daffodil (Daffy, for short). She owns a flower shop, so I know she'll love seeing all the beauty in their property, as well as their view into the Napa Valley.
Life is so good right now. It might not be perfect, but in our hearts, it's pretty darn close. I continue to read blogs from people who are just plugging along, not seeing what's good, or even great, in their existence. I have such a hard time reading blog posts from people who are just reporting their day, with no insight or revelation about how they made it better. Hey - all of you - I'm giving you a virtual smack right now! If you're one of those bloggers, just stop it! I'd rather that you just didn't post anything than to post something that doesn't lift yourself to a higher place.
There is so much good in the world (turn off the TV and let life surround you with beauty). Surround yourself with people that you love. And above all, love yourself. Your life will be so much better when you do.
Keep Sparking!
