Day 448 - Sunshiny Day

Saturday, February 20, 2016

After some low clouds and fog this morning, the sun is now shining brightly, and the grebes are swimming amidst the sparkles on the lake. I'm taking a break from my class preparation to catch up and remind you all that no matter what the weather, you should always be creating your own sunshine.

I love this quote, because it's all about staying positive. Those of you who know me are familiar with my Pollyanna nature. I believe that encouragement and support, along with a hug and a smile, go a lot farther than criticism. Even those that I have to give a little "tough love" to should know that it always comes from a place of love.

I am grateful for rain when it falls, clouds when they appear, and sunshine when it makes the lake sparkle. Every part of this world provides endless fascination and joy. Why not cherish it? If it's cold outside, be grateful for warm blankets and a home that provides comfort. Or go outside and embrace the chill with a brisk walk, watching your breath form little clouds in front of you.

Life is what you make of it. Let the sunshine warm you even if the air is frigid, and let the shadows fall behind you.

This afternoon we're going to Mel and Kurt's place for a hike around their property to enjoy the daffodils in bloom (photos will be coming, I promise), and then dinner together. Steve's former boss Karen is here, and we are enjoying her visit tremendously. Her birthday is tomorrow, and it will be so much fun to celebrate with her.

Enjoy the sunshine today. Remember - even if the sky is full of clouds, the sun is still there, because if it weren't, well

I just love your blog Steve! You are so right people do need to hear praise instead of criticism whenever possible. Just remember sometimes they will tend to take advantage of good hearts if allowed. When I was in a position of authority I found out very quickly that some people are very good about 'playing' you so you need to be aware.

Honestly I'm so very happy that we do our own thing employment wise. it definitely has it's own set of challenges but I'd take it any day of the week over navigating the beaucracy of large corporations or even the educational system.

Too many chiefs and not enough Indians... emoticon Derp! emoticon

Well here I go off on my own tangent. Think of emoticon songs.

    You Are My Sunshine
On The Sunny Side Of The Street
    Walking On Sunshine
Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone

    Did you start singing?

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and the daffodils, which are sunny indeed emoticon

    Love this blog.

When things get a bit cloudy in my world, I sometimes think of the times I have been flying somewhere and going through the clouds and its bumpy, then in a second the clouds are gone the sun and blue sky are there and the ride is smooth again.

Yes, Steve I, too look for the sunshine.

Glad to hear your having a wonderful time with your friend. Looking forward to the pictures. HUGS, Pat
