Day 450 - Another Milestone

Tuesday, February 23, 2016

I got my regular Spark Streaker awards today for hitting 450 days of logging into SP and getting at least 10 minutes of fitness.

I will admit that this past weekend my minutes of fitness have been minimal, to say the least. I loved spending time with Karen, and we had a lot of fun together touring the county and exploring little nooks and crannies. But have I done physical activity that got me out of breath? No, not really. Did I want the points and to keep the streak going? You bet your sweet bippy!

Still, I wouldn't trade this weekend for anything. Karen was so good to Steve when he needed to find a job in Sacramento, and she really took care of him. She still does, when she comes to visit and gives us wonderful gifts and shares her wisdom and support with us.

Now that she is back home again, I'm determined to get back into the swing of things. My eating is mostly fine, although I need to focus on portion control again. I had run-ins today with HR and fiscal services, and it sent my mood into a tailspin. That's the thing about being an introvert - a little controversy can cause me to be really despondent and without positive energy. I know - even I can have challenges with feeling positive!

Thanks to all of you for your friendship and support. I am so lucky to have each of you in my life. I know you'll have some positive words to help me get out of this little dip, and I can't wait to read them. Just know that your support means THE WORLD to me. Thanks for all you do to boost me up.

All I know right now is that I'm heading to bed and hope that sleep will help make tomorrow a better day. I have no doubt that you'll all do your part to make it better too.

I love you all! Keep Sparking!!!!

Hey my wonderful friend. Don't let anyone steal your thunder. Remember we have to go through some dips to enjoy the surfing 'crests' of life! I feel for you in the hierarchy that abounds...believe me I was always up against the 'machine'.

Just know that you are a highly valuable employee and are probably loved and admired by more co-workers and students that you can even fathom and hold onto that!

Our Josh used to get so despondent saying "Mommmers....I'm the good guy on the outside just looking in" he used to think that he didn't have a friend in the world or a real support system around him in his day to day. What he didn't realize until it was too late is that over 300 of his friends came to his memorial and stood up to honor him saying he was closer to them than their own blood.

Always remember your value and always go after your aspirations...you are with no competition in my mind!

I'm so happy you had a great time with your friend. You will get back on track in NO time!

Keeping being YOU...that's pretty sweet in my book! emoticon

Hope a good night's sleep will do the trick, Steve! It can be tricky to eat daintily when you are having fun with guests! I know you will have all your ducks set up in a row again tomorrow. Be kind to my Stevey!

I am very confident that a weekend entertaining a good friend will not throw you off your stride. (You bet your sweet bippy...Laugh In??)

Your milestone should be celebrated. It not only means that you are consistent with your desire to maintain your weight, but you are serious about keeping track of your intake. All awesome, and all great news.

Don't beat yourself up for having a good weekend. Knowing you, you will be up at 5 am doing that extreme exercise you do. I am quite sure you will get your minutes back, as you know how good you feel when you do them. Since I am celebrating doing 1,000 steps of walking, I am quite jealous of your ability to get at that exercise you do.

Hope you had a good class.

    emoticon on your streaks!

Steve, focus on the great weekend you just enjoyed. Resolve the work / personnel issues when you are on campus. Nothing is ever going to run smoothly all the time, but whatever the problem, you'll figure it out.

Nobody can take my day away from me unless I let them.
You came home, got to unwind, and now you are relaxing and know that the people involved in the conflict, are not really that important. Steve will spring back like a slinky!!!

I am sure by the time you read this you will have turned your mood around. You always do. I know what you mean though about being introverted and how the littlest thing can turn you around. It has seemed like an uphill battle for me of late, but all I need to do is look internally and realize how blessed I am, and that usually turns my mood around. Most things that I fret about are things out of my control. So why sweat the little things. emoticon And congrats on your 450 days streak! I am at 525 day streak on water and login, so I know how you feel! Have a great day!

I get those same feelings when I have controversy in my life. I try to remember to ask myself if it will matter a year from now. Usually that helps me put the event in the proper perspective.

First congratulations on your milestones. AWESOME

A few things that help me are : This too shall pass. This is a feeling, and they come and go. I think my favorite one is : It is what it is, But IT WILL BECOME WHAT I MAKE IT. HUGS, Pat

I am glad you and Steve had such a good time with an old friend!
Sorry you had a couple run-ins at work...those kinds of things always left me feeling out of sorts and off balanced, too! Sadly, your job has those "built in"! Given all the people and different personalities you deal with they are going to happen...remember you are the guiding force...stay in the moment and it will work out! There's always going to be something to throw you off at times...but you can do it! Breathe!
I hope the rest of your week goes well...tomorrow is a new day!
    Hugs,
    Mary
