Day 451 - Blood Test Tomorrow

Wednesday, February 24, 2016

I am getting some blood work done in the morning, courtesy of my health plan at work, so no food or drink (except water) and... gulp... no vigorous exercise! My appointment is at 7:30am, so I will bring my breakfast with me, and then try to walk on campus tomorrow morning to get some fitness minutes in. There is a Black History Month lunch (soul food buffet) with featured guest speakers in our campus restaurant at noon, so I'll enjoy some good eats and listen to inspiring stories to keep me motivated.

Class was great tonight, as usual. I met with one of my students who had missed two classes and the first quiz. He was thinking of dropping but reconsidered, and he finally got the textbook today. He was at class and is starting to engage. I was really happy he was back, and I think he's going to be fine. His teammates are going to help him with some of the technological challenges he's having. My students are awesome!

Have a great night everyone! I'm heading to bed...

Keep Sparking in your dreams!

Good plan on taking your breakfast with you! I need to do some blood tests myself so I can get started on some bio~identical hormone treatments. I've been too buried with stuff at the consignment gallery so will get to it after things start slowing down after Easter.

So happy your MIA student came back to the fold...I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he makes his education a priority. I know if he needs a 'spark' you are the wonderful teacher to ignite it! emoticon

I glad to hear that your student is back and that his teammates are stepping up to help him.

I'm sure you're blood work will come back with great numbers, another terrific NSV.

Enjoy the soul food buffet and the guest speakers, we'll be looking forward a report on both.

    Go forth and be emoticon

So happy your student is trying and he is not backing out of your class. I hope the nurse finds the vein right away that way it will not hurt so much. Today I did my exercise and kept myself busy with projects. Iam so happy I am thinking of other things and not of what should I eat?

    Have a great evening Steve.

Good luck with your blood work...will be good to see how you are doing...I am sure you will have great numbers! I am sure some walking on campus will do for your exercise for one day! Lunch sounds interesting both food wise and information wise! Did you happen to see the wonderful 106 year old woman who got to meet President Obama and the First Lady at the White House? She was given an award for her volunteer work a couple years ago and said she would love to meet the President...and so they invited her! She was a little spitfire who in no way looked 106!!! I think she was all of four feet tall and walked very well with a cane! Loved it!
    Have a great Wednesday!
    Hugs,
    Mary
