Day 453 - Numbers
Friday, February 26, 2016
I got the results of my blood test this morning. (Wow, that was FAST!)
I was very pleased with the results. A major NSV, if you ask me. This program works. I will compare them to my last round of blood tests tomorrow. Here are the highlights:
HDL: 85 (higher than 60 is good)
LDL: 75 (less than 130 is desirable)
Total Cholesterol: 174 (less than 200)
Triglycerides: 68 (less than 150)
Blood Sugar: 94 (less than 100)
PSA: 2.2 (less than 4.0)
The only red flag was A1C, which was 5.7% (which is borderline). The strange thing is that I've never had a problem with blood sugar, and I've never been diabetic. So I don't know what that number means, but I can tell you this: I am NOT going to worry about it!
I was most grateful for the PSA number. I am a little concerned about my prostate because my dad just went through prostate cancer treatment 18 months ago. I would love to avoid that, but know that it is part of my genetic history. My dad's brother, my uncle Don, also had prostate cancer.
We have to take care of ourselves every day. It isn't always easy, but it's always possible. I chose healthy options today for my meals, and stayed active all day. I feel great, and this blood word just confirms that this program works. It doesn't just work, it's AWESOME. And the friends I've met along the way are like the gift that keeps on giving.
My heart is full, and my body is pumped for the day ahead. Keep Sparking, friends, and focus on your health every day!
