Believe there is a great power silently working all things for good. Behave yourself and never mind the rest. Beatrix Potter.
There is a great power, YOU.
Yesterday, when that woman at the desk at physical therapy was rude and incorrect, I had every right to come back at her and correct her with some force. I didn't bother. I don't bother with those people anymore, because I believe they are insecure, and need every single moment of fake power to try to control their own emotional dissatisfaction.
I knew I would be shown to be correct, as the director of the Physical Therapy department was coming to get me, and WOULD recognize me, and instead of a feeling of satisfaction for my vindication, I looked at her and saw her confusion and worry that I would say something. I didn't. You shouldn't. I don't do that anymore, because it does not matter. Being right all the time doesn't matter either. Being good inside, feeling good, showing that on the outside matters a great deal.
I think we all wear our dissatisfaction with our lives as a coat. Unfortunately this coat is made of fat, and it is a clear indication that we are not happy with ourselves. So, losing weight is not only a matter of calories and exercise, it is a reason to come to grips with whatever is bothering you, from the inside, and when you fix that, the reason you have overeaten (for me it was all my life), slowly fades.
I know this is serious, but this is a serious thing. We all need to start loving ourselves, just as we are today, with all our faults and differences. This is what makes you, you, and you are the most important person on the planet for you. You are special, and you are awesome.
Start by writing five reasons you are awesome. Put it on your mirror and look at your list every day. Don't think about it, just write it quickly. You are awesome, and you KNOW why. You need to come out into the good of life and behave yourself. This means stopping that inner voice that demeans and diminishes you. You are better than that. You are GOOD. You are you. Remember that every single minute of every single day.
