Day 476 - Clarifications
Saturday, March 19, 2016
In my post yesterday, some people thought I meant that people shouldn't share their troubles on SparkPeople. I'm sorry if that was the message you received, but it wasn't what I meant to say. (In the heat of the moment, sometimes the words come out wrong.)
What I meant was that if someone's life is in such terrible shape, getting professional help is the best answer. Unfortunately, some of the posts I read here don't seem to be about someone whose life is in danger (emphasis on "seem to be"). After hearing the backstory of La'Porsha Renae (unfortunately, the information that was shared on the show before she started singing wasn't included in the YouTube clip, and it was really important stuff), I was reminded that most of us have it pretty good, and if we spend too much time whining, we might miss something wonderful.
I will say that without a doubt my life is awesome, and I have wonderful friends, both in real life and here on Spark. I'm so grateful for all of you. I want nothing more than to lift you up and shine a warm light on you so you see how awesome you are. There is nothing better than feeling (and believing that you are) amazing.
Go out and be awesome today. Enjoy life. Know that you are loved.
And keep Sparking.
