Hitting our limit

The soccer kid and I are on our fourth late night of staying up past 2 am together. We're averaging less than 5 hours of sleep this week, which is bad enough for an old dame like me but really awful for a growing teen like her. But she has no choice - she is still catching up on schoolwork. She missed 8 tests during her week off after surgery, and had more tests during this first week back. Studying double time so she could take makeup tests after school and regular tests during class, and then also trying to complete missed and current homework, is really wearing the poor kid down.
But it's only one more day - we just have to survive Thursday and then it's spring break. Whew! I'm looking forward to doting on the kid during our road trip and her first set of college visits. I'm going to need to catch up on my work in the evenings, but the daytime hours will belong to the kid. We have a free day on Sunday in Boston, and if the kid is up to it and the weather cooperates I'm thinking that we'll walk the Freedom Trail slowly and revisit history.
I'm getting ahead of ourselves. First we have to survive tonight!
