The five W's of life...

Sunday, March 27, 2016

The five W's of life:

WHO you are is what makes you special. Do not change for anyone. Do not think you have to, do not compromise your principles, or your character to please anyone. If you are happy and kind, you will get the same in return.

WHAT lies ahead will always be a mystery. Do not be afraid to explore. Life is a new experience every single day. You can make every day a great one with a great attitude and a desire to know more, be more, want more. You can make your life spectacular.

WHEN life pushes you over, you push back harder. This is character. This is how you know you are stronger than anything you might face, any food that might intrigue you briefly, anyone who wants to sabotage your efforts. A smile, a no thank you, a firm resolve makes pushing back easy. You are the master of your destiny.

WHERE there are choices to make, make the ones you won't regret. And, for heaven's sake, don't dwell on the mistakes you have already made. We have all made a million of them, and there is nothing we can do about it, but learn from them, and know we won't make those same mistakes again. This includes food, and the one thing I have learned over my effort here, is that I just do not have anything in my house that would possibly intrigue me. If there is someone in your house that must eat junk, make them keep it in a separate place. They need to honor you, as much as you honor them.

WHY things happen will never be certain. Take it in stride and move forward. I do think there is a bit of problem with this one, because I think there are a lot of things in life that we CAN control. We can control our behavior, we can control our mood, we can control our kindness quotient. It is the unexpected bumps in the road we cannot control, and we need to deal with them, not by eating, but by finding coping mechanisms that work. Walking, reading, whatever fires your engine, do that.

Make this a spectacular day, and mind your W's.

Spark on.
