March MADNESS - Lose weight? ...you BETcha!

Monday, April 04, 2016

Well March has come and gone and I was a running fiend this last month and able to log 66.7 miles for the entire month. Food? I didnt do so well.... I am mildly depressed to say I have gained 5 lbs over the last couple of months. With a crazy work schedule, I ate out way too much, and did not count calories. I just found out while I was on spring break also that one of my co-workers quit. So my department that is already extremely short staffed is now even more short staffed, leaving me as the sole QA person at work in Charlotte, with only 11 months of experience under my belt... its a bit nerve racking! I was over districts in Winston Salem and Asheville, but it looks like I maybe picking up Charlotte as well as it was my co-workers district to oversee... So there is no telling how this will affect the department as a whole. I am sure I will find out this week.

I signed up for a DietBet to lose 4% of my body weight during the month of April. That means I will need to lose 6.9 lbs this month. I think its doable. I thought the possibility of winning some money would be good incentive to be smarter about my eating habits since exercise is still going pretty strong. The pay in was only $15, and the pot is currently at $1100, so hopefully I will get a little money out of this.

For my 2016 miles in 2016... and as of March 31, 2016:
Relay Team Miles: 170 miles out of 504 miles
Step Miles: 467.92 miles out of 2016 miles

I am ahead of schedule for my relay team miles. I only needed 126 miles to stay on track at the end of March, but had 170 miles. As for my 2016 miles of steps in 2016, I am still behind by 36.08 miles, but closed the gap a smidge because at the end of February I was behind by 36.24 miles. I should have 504 miles completed at the end of March, but currently only have 467.92 miles. I am not so far behind that I would count myself out yet though!

My first milestone bib: 100 solo miles

I only lack 27 miles to get my 200 solo miles bib.

Also, my running team of 4 is sharing 2016 miles (each doing 504 for the year), and we are currently at 700 miles closing out March. We only needed 504 miles at the end of March so we are ahead of schedule (which will help out when I slow down during the hot summer months!).

That is all I have to share for now!! Happy Sparking!
