Plug and chug

I have been off my game a little this last week. I got sick, took 2 extra days off work, and still wasn't 100% when I went back. So exercise has been virtually nonexistent but I still watched what I ate. A couple nights ago an amazing woman we work with brought in home made chicken enchiladas, beans, rice, and guacamole. Our bosses paid her but she had wanted to make the meal for us because every time our department does a meal we invite her to eat with us. The food was incredibly good and I managed to enjoy without overdoing it. I didn't track that day since I don't know her recipes, but I stayed on track the next day and still weighed in down 2 pounds almost 3. So far with crazy work schedule and all the walking and working I do just keeping food on track is keeping me going in the right direction. I do need to push myself to get some exercise in because I still have that couch to 5k to finish. But this morning I am going to bed early because when I get up my cardio will be pushing my snow blower up and down the driveway so I can get to work on time. I found an overnight oatmeal recipe on Pinterest that I really love (it was a basic with several variations) highly customizable and delicious but when I plugged it in it was a good chunk of my daily calories. I am tweaking with different types of milk and I may even just cut it in half and call it a small meal or a large snack. Really filling though and between that and a sandwich on good bread for lunch I actually meet my fiber goal easily.

    Oatmeal is one of my go to meals/snacks too. I'm glad you're muddling through.

    It is so hard to eat someone else's cooking for that reason, it is hard to know the cal count, I choose something close to journal, I'm good the rest of the day. It doesn't happen every day so its OK once in a while

    Hope you feel 100% soon. The oatmeal recipe sounds excellent. I will have to check out Pinterest to see the recipe. emoticon emoticon
