A taxing night

It's midnight and I have been procrastinating all night. I told myself I had to start working on taxes tonight and have I started yet? Of course not. It's just such a big chore. I have to complete 8 tax returns: 4 for the hub and me, and 4 for the college kid. Federal, state, and 2 city returns (one for where we live and one for where we work). I will have to go through receipts in shoe boxes. I will have to wince as I write checks. Ugh ugh ugh.

And then I read that this year, the deadline is not Fri April 15, but Mon April 18. I am fighting the urge to put this off one more night. It is so tempting! Okay, deep breath, as my spark friend Pam would say, time for the big girl panties. Here we go, into the fray.

    Seriously? City returns also??? Grrr........I get taxes done early because the anxiety is not worth the procrastinating. And we ALWAYS owe, but I'm always relieved when it is done. Yup big girl panties required. :)

    Today later this morning, I have my appointment to do my taxes. I thought that I had too many changes in 2015 to be able to do them myself. I put it off and I put it off. Finally I decided to get my check registry out and list the items like I always do. Then I decided to look over the information that had come in the mail, which I had put it in ONE place for safe keeping. So far so good. Then I decided to call and make the appointment. I took one of the only two remaining appointments. Then I showed Hubby what I had put together and had him help me with some small details. I think WE are ready! That being said, I think that it is time that I went to bed.(It's 1:59 a.m.) Appointment is for 11 a.m. :) This has been a great stress factor for me so I WILL BE GLAD WHEN IT IS IN THE MAIL! After my "taxing" appointment, I am planning to go and help at the VFW with a meal that is on tonight. (It's almost time to do my HAPPY DANCE!!! ) emoticon
