Mini update

I"ve been tracking all week...even the two days when I fell out of sync with my goals. I'm realizing how far I had fallen away from my ideals of eating really healthy food. I have gotten sidetracked by convenience, taste, and simply dulling myself to the importance of eating well. However: Here I am...one week in!

I've also earned an award for activity, which is great. It seems a bit silly, but getting an award from SP is actually a little incentive. :)

I'm wrestling with some health concerns, so my energy is not high today...I'd write more, but the gist of is that my intention is to continue my good habits, and to experiment with some other super healthy possibilities, such as juicing.

    Thanks for stopping by my page. Hoping that your health issues are resolved or on the way to being resolved by now.

    I have been MIA for most of the last month or so. I went to Florida to spend a week with my friend, and we had a great time.

    Then as soon as I came home, the next day, in fact, I jumped into the show I am producing at my local community theater.

    The show opened on Friday, and has been very well received. We have two more weekends and are excited about what we have done.

    Being at rehearsal for 5 nights most weeks, and last week 4 nights of rehearsal and then two nights of shows has taken a lot of my time. But, it is worth it.

    Last Sunday we had a 90th birthday party for my Dad, and it was really great.

    I am going to try to be back on a more regular basis now that things are a bit calmer.

    I console myself and you I hope with the thought that good habits get easier over time.

    I'm so happy to see you here "beside me" in this challenge. It IS difficult. We DO lull ourselves into submission to less than the healthiest or the best. But both of us know the truth...we've just ignored it, because we love to eat good food AND we are comforted by food when we feel down or anxious. So we've gone back to the beginning, relearning the skills that we already have tucked away. I'm struggling with it every single day. I know we can conquer this once-and-for-all. We have ALL the tools, inner and outer!

    BTW, on juicing, since you don't get the fiber that's in whole fruits and vegetables, we add some of the pulp back into the juice or use it in cookin in Ecuador. We add any sort of pulp (including soy beans pulp after making soy milk) to baked goods, like to muffin batter, or to make broth for cooking soup, rice, and pasta.

    Sorry about the health challenges. These bodies are a constant source of amazement and disappointment, often simultaneously. lol
