When I was a kid, one of the highlights of winter was watching the holiday movies, made with really primitive animation or stop-motion technology. One of those was about the fictional origins of Santa Claus, and there's a song in it that still comes to mind once in a while, "One Foot in Front of the Other." Sometimes when I'm doing something tough or tedious, that old song still pops up in my head.
Which it is doing in the wee hours of this morning. I didn't get my work chores done last night so have woken up at 4:30 to try to finish them off this morning. But I did manage a third day of tracking and sticking to plan, with no snacking after dinner. It's tough to behave, so that old song has been going through my old brain, and in some ridiculous way, giving me a little bit of extra resolve.
