Something fishy

Last weekend I bought two large packages of fresh salmon from Costco, in preparation for feeding our college kid who moved back home for the summer on Friday and who loves salmon. But I've only been able to feed him once since he's been busy working on a project on campus and gets home around 3 or 4 am. So instead, the rest of us are eating salmon every night for dinner.

Which would be a treat normally but there is something off with our oven so I am overcooking salmon every night. I put two new thermometers in the oven tonight while baking the salmon to monitor, and it was indeed overheating, so I turned the temperature down and managed to keep the salmon from turning into hockey pucks.

I know, first world problems. I enjoy so many modern conveniences, and tonight while cooking dinner it felt like I was one step away from having to stoke the fire to get our food to roast evenly.

    Bemused, I'm like this, too. I don't like for anything to go wrong, and almost everything that does go wrong is a first world problem for me, too. That said, once you enjoy the stability of an oven that cooks well and evenly, it's hard to accept an oven that doesn't! I hope you get the problem resolved soon so that your cooking time will be more pleasant and less labor intensive. Good luck!
