Six hundred and ninety days left to get fit by 40
Saturday, May 14, 2016
I am counting the days to my 40th birthday and my goal is to get fit by then. What is my idea of fit? Is it a number on the scale - no. I don't believe that number defines me. Do I want to get skinny - I don't want to get skinny either. So what exactly is my idea of fit. My idea of fit is being able to play with my kids without saying I am tired or short of breath and saying enough let's go in. When I go for a hike with the family - I don't want to be huffing and puffing and making everyone else wait for me. That is my idea of fit - I don't have an image of someone in my mind that I want to look like nor do I want to look like I did when I was in my twenties, My idea of a fit body would be where I don't carry extra fat around my stomach cause that ain't a good place to carry your weight. I just want to be healthy for the ones that love me and for that I need to love myself.
Do I hate anything about my body - it's not exactly hate, but I don't like my arms. They are the first place where I gain weight and I have a lot of weight around my arms and it is not exactly in proportion to the weight I carry on my body. So, yes I'll be honest that is one thing I want to change. I want toned arms.
I know I will be a work in progress even after my 40th birthday and this journey is going to be lifelong. I am enjoying being a work in progress.
Today, I did a Mary Bowers arms workout and a kickboxing with Janis Saffell.
