I'm inordinately pleased to have a new friend just sign up on SparkPeople. I am supposed to be tracking my food so that we can monitor what is creating issues with my gout but I am just not as good at it as I once was. Plus I hate writing down little (and big) cheats. I don't really want to know how many calories those mini licorice bits are. Really. Trust me. :) Perhaps having a new friend on here will inspire me to toe the line a bit better.

The class hike with my daughter at the conservation area was good and bad. The kids were absolutely fantastic but it was a record-breakingly hot day and a long uphill climb. If it had just been my family I would have been fine but I had to keep up and with the heat, man, it was pretty brutal. On the positive side it was better than the following week when we had snow whilst the other class was doing their outside classroom stuff.

I'm excited about the forthcoming long weekend as we should be able to do lots of hiking where we are going. We have committed ourselves somewhat to trying to do a series of geocaches in the area so that should be good fun for the whole family.

I just started on Victoza, a medication that treats blood sugar in various ways but also appears to have some weight loss activity as well. Let's hope so!

    Hope the medication works well for you. I've heard great things about it in regards to helping with weight loss. Please make sure you record what you consider your little and big cheats because in the end you are only cheating yourself if you don't. Best wishes!
