A ship is safe in a harbor...but that's not what ships are for.
I have had a few days of rough sailing. I have had a lot to do, and pain to make it difficult. The wind luffed my sails, I couldn't catch a breeze. I took a breath, I came about, dodged the beam, pulled in the halyard, and caught some wind in a reach.
Have you had one of those days, where nothing is going right, you cannot make anything work your way, and you feel like heading into your safe harbor? Please don't. It is just too glorious out there. Life is just too magnificent. Feel the wind in your hair, take a deep breath, and keep sailing.
There is nothing more exhilarating that the feeling of that wind, your sails filled with ocean air, the sound of gulls cheering you overhead, and you running through the waves, without a care in the world, knowing you've got this!!
We will always have rough seas. There will always be a time when you want to turn around and head back to your previous safe harbor. That's not what you are here for. You are here to test your endurance, to fill your sails, to head off to new, uncharted shores...to succeed.
We have the capacity to do anything we set our minds to. We have the capacity to steer our boats in any direction we choose. We can adjust our sails, dig a little deeper and do a little better.
Never forget how magnificent it is out there. How wonderful and precious every single day is. How you are in charge of making it one to remember.
Don't let a lack of wind stop your progress. Throw off those ropes, pull in your sails, catch your wind, and race. You can do this, and so can I.
I'm never letting the wind leave my sails. It just feels too good.
