Bitter Sweet

Wednesday, May 18, 2016

Much has happened these past few months, and although I'm overwhelmed, I'm also ecstatic for the changes in progress.

As many of you know, I met my father for the first time in April. The experience was liberating, but soon it was almost depressing that he had to return to his home state in North Carolina. Although we still talk every few days, I dearly wish I could feel his hug again. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to take a trip to see him around Christmas. We have already discussed it, and instead of watching Christmas movies, we are planning on watching all of my favorite movies that he has not seen yet. I am so excited!
As of lately, I have also been working on a scrapbook full of pieces of my life, so that he can experience what was taken away from him. Unfortunately it is taking me a little longer to make then I would like due to school getting in the way. Have you ever just been so excited about something that you want it done NOW? That is exactly how I feel about it!

Speaking of school; that is yet another piece of my life that is overwhelming me. I am currently in the semester of school that is offered in the summer and is only 3 weeks long. That averages to about 6 chapters a week that I have to study in order to complete the class! SIX! I just started this semester and I already have to read and take a test on those first six chapters by Saturday. Talk about overwhelming! I am currently reading and outlining an average of two chapters every day so that I won't become overly distraught.

Another stressful, yet exciting piece of my life is that my boyfriend and I moved to a new house. I almost forgot how much money is needed to move from one place to another, which practically drained us. However, this house is MUCH bigger than my original place with a huge back yard. Why did we move, you ask? Well you guys, not only did we need more room, but there is another secret I have been hiding from you.

Everyone, meet Duke. He is a 9 week old Belgian Malinois, and we will be training him to become my service dog, which are what these dogs are mainly bred for (not to mention they are also used for military and police services). Daisy was originally going to be trained for the same services, but we realized quickly that she is just too hyper to be able to handle too many commands or even be able to pay attention enough to realize when I'm going through a mental break down. Do not worry though, we have both Daisy and Duke (get the name reference?!), and we love both dogs equally!

The absolute worst part about so much happening in my life all at once is the fact that I have been unable to stop stress eating. This has caused me to gain a significant amount of weight compared to my 156 pounds that I was only 6 months ago. HOW DO YOU GUYS STOP?! It feels impossible! Don't get me wrong though, I still feel so blessed for all that I have. If you guys have a feel minutes, please offer me whatever advice you can in my comment section! I would really appreciate it.

I just started reaching for a water bottle instead of food. I also set a timer to where i only ate 3 times a day. If i got hungary in between i would eat an Apple or a boiled egg it's the hard at first. Try to drink a gallon of water every day too.

Good morning!! I'm so happy for you!! So much good has happened! Yay! And you're pups are ADOREABLE!! As for the stress eating, (I'm guilty of it too!) drink fluids like water or teas to combat the hand to mouth reaction. It takes time and diligence.
