Its been awhile since I blogged. Its been a crazy, whirlwind few months!
After the holidays, my wonderful, kind, super generous in laws gave my husband & I the money to build a 30x50 foot shop/garage on our property next door. So we spent the winter clearing the land & preparing it for concrete. Then waiting for it to be poured. Then we had the building installed. Then we waited to paint the floor & get it all set up. Now, 5 "short" months later, we are mostly moved in!! It is wonderful!! It is larger than our first house!! The boys have had a blast!! We are so thankful!! It is a place we envision spending a lot of time in & making lots of memories with our children & grandchildren!!
We also started karate with the boys. That's been 4-5 evenings a week, because of course they cannot have class at the same time because of their ages. Which in reality is a good thing. Being homeschooled, they need time apart!! And it is kind of nice to have a couple of hours each evening to sit & relax and watch them & visit with some really nice moms.
Said karate has also complicated my oldest son's life. He broke his left foot 3 weeks ago. He walked around on it for a week before I got him into the orthopedic dr. The dr put him in a boot but said no weight bearing for 4 weeks. Being a 13 year old boy, he lasted about 6 days!! So, I'm waiting to see at the end of the month what the dr says. To me, my relationship with my son was more important than my nagging him about what the dr said. Now, if the dr has to do surgery, THEN I will be a nag
I've also decided to begin working on getting my teaching degree again. I LOVE studying & always wanted to go back to college. But I couldn't decide on what I wanted to do. I believe (at least right now) that God is leading me to get my teaching degree so that when I am done homeschooling my children, I can be a tutor and help other parents homeschool theirs. So many parents say "I just don't think I could do that". I want to hold their hands & help them do it! I think homeschooling is one of the greatest things ever & I want as many people as possible to experience it.
Ok, off for now to get some chores done. It feels nice to get my thoughts down & chronicle my life again.
PS I think I am almost done dealing with this go round of Lyme. In the last 3-4 weeks, I have begun feeling more like my old self. I go back to the Lyme dr next week. I'm hoping ony 1-2 more visits & 1-2 more months on antibiotics. I've been on them since Jan!!
