May flew by with crazy busy life flying with it and I am glad to say that I feel pretty good about the lessons learned even though I lost no weight on that scale. What I have learned about my progress:
Even when life is completely hectic, I still have time to workout, even if its just a couple days a week.
I am getting stronger. I have been running 10 minutes out of a 30 minute workout (it's really 40.. 5 min. warm up and then 5 min. cool down with 30 minutes of solid focus) consistently on running days.
I can do other things than just the bike on cross training days. The elliptical machine is not my enemy even if it was 5 years ago. I am proud to say I did an entire workout outside my comfort zone on the elliptical even though the intention was to .... just try it for 5 minutes.
I may not have lost weight in the month of May, but I managed my eating so I didn't gain either.
I learned that even buying crushed garlic at the store... has sugar on the ingredient list. Why on earth would you add sugar to garlic??? Now I am roasting my own, mashing it up and jarring it with olive oil so that I can avoid the sugar there as well.
Kombucha is a wonder drink! I have been drinking 3 oz. every morning and before dinner and I can feel a difference in my digestion. I make my own and make enough for the whole family who drink it happily, seeing we stopped buying soda and juice. They think we are soooo "hipster". LOL
Life throws us curveballs and we can't always control everything. It's what you choose to do with those that matters most. I am not letting anything strike me out of the game. I will get up and play on.
