Make a magnificent transformation

Saturday, June 11, 2016

May the next few months be a period of magnificent transformation.

I have been asked MANY times, how I got started losing weight, and how I did it, and how I continue to do well. Just like anything you do in your life, it starts with a minute, an hour, a day, determining that you will do the best for you that you can.

Losing weight is math. You must take in less calories then you spend. One pound equals 3500 calories. So, you must eat 3500 calories less then your body needs to lose a pound. You can do this by starving, taking DUMB weight loss miracle drugs, or you can change your outlook. You can decide that you have a bad relationship with food, that you use it for solace, way more times then necessary, and that somehow, you need to resolve the issues with food that make you want it.

I have lost a lot of weight, because I changed the way I eat. I don't have anything to eat in the house that isn't good for me, or that would be a temptation. I have found substitutes for things that I want to eat. I have found reasons WHY I overate, and have found exercise that I like, and always will. I have found that by focusing on the positive things about me, and deciding that I am worth every minute of this effort, I have eaten way more than 35,000 less calories then I needed, in this past year.

Someone told me once to imagine how it feels to pick up a hundred plus pounds, weight I carried around on me. I couldn't do it. I can't imagine how hard that was for my body to deal with that weight, and how good it feels to be rid of it. I still get a kick out of people I haven't seen in a while, trying to compliment me, without saying I used to be fat. It is easy, just like compliments are. "You look good" works really well. It is when people try to elaborate, that THEY get into trouble. It is all amusing to me, as I have become a different, more confident, and much more content person. I am OK with people asking me if I had surgery. NO, I just stopped eating junk and started exercising. REALLY? Yup.

Make your magnificent transformation. We all can do this, we just have to believe in ourselves, and know we are worth it. I'm worth it, and I am never going to stop, and it feels incredibly awesome.

Spark on.
