Day 705 Chased my tail all day.

Tuesday, July 19, 2016

My dad called late last night to ask me how to get a new inhaler since the one he had was a sample from the doctor. So this morning I took him one she had given me. It was the same thing she had given him. Because of construction on the highway to town I've been using the county roads...well today they were putting new tar down and I had to go way way out of my way to get to town this morning. When I got home I was a bit upset and in some pain.

Took my meds and rested for about 2 hours and felt much better. Was working on some decluttering and thinking about dinner when the phone rang again. It was the nurse at the facility. Dad was having a lot of trouble breathing and wanted to go to the doctor. Well the clinic was closed so I took him to the ER. He has pneumonia and doesn't want to live if he can't breath any better than this. They treated him and he got some lesson from the pulmonary guy. So in the morning I'll go get his prescriptions filled and hope to god he doesn't go out in this heat.

No time for me today and just catch as catch can meals. Good thing I cooked the other day and had stuff that only needed to be reheated.

What a blessing to your folks that you are so close - I believe they stay in better health when folks like us are around to troubleshoot things they just can't seem to anymore.

Oh my, I'm sorry to that your dad is so sick again. I hope the scripts help and also that he stays inside where it's cooler since it does sound like the heat tomorrow may be awful in your neck of the woods. You take care as well. Take a water bottle with you tomorrow. I hope you can travel without a delay in the morning so you can get back home without a lot of pain. Again, your parents are fortunate to have you to call on when they need help.
