I've been on the Ideal Protein diet now for 4 weeks and 4 days. As of my last weigh in I have lost 17.5 lbs and a total of 14.7 inches (3.5 off my waist!). It really isn't that hard to be on this program. While I do get hungry just before it's time to eat, I feel satisfied after eating. I thought about extending my time on Phase 1 a little longer so I would lose more weight to get my waist to get a little smaller. (I'm afraid that at 165 lbs, my waist is still going to be bigger than I want and will continue to bother me.) However, I am planning a trip to Fort Lauderdale at the end of October, so I will need the four weeks of October to complete Phases 2 and 3, because I know I am not going to follow the diet while on vacation!
I wanted to write this blog entry because I do have one major concern. I am afraid that I will not start going to the gym once it is allowed. I've gotten out of the habit of going and I will be honest I kind of like being able to come home from work and just being home! There lies the problem! If I am going to want to get the weight off, I can't do that! I must go to the gym and work out. I would hate to have all this time, effort, and money to go to waste because I am being lazy. I started this diet/program to lose the weight and inches, and I would hate to see me undo all the work I've done because I'm being lazy.
I MUST stayed motivated after the program. I'll need to set goals for number of strength training work outs and cardio workouts for myself. I will also need to set a weight max, so that if I see my weight creeping up, I get it under control. The same goes for a maximum on my waist.

You can do this, Steve!!! You know what you need to do, now you just need to make yourself do it!!! Lord, I'm going to need you to help me, because we both know I can't do it alone!
